2. Comments & Forum Interactions

When academy students or visitors leave comments or notes across platform modules, we collect the data shown in the comments form, alongside the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to assist with automated spam detection systems.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to verify usage. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Following academic approval of your submission, your profile picture becomes visible to the community within the context of your specific comment or query.

3. Media & Assignment Uploads

If you upload media assets to the academy platform (for instance, student profile images, workspace screenshots, or technical assignment files), you should strictly avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Other users on the platform may download and extract any location data from media hosted on the public domain.

4. Cookies & Academic Session Management

General Platform Cookies: If you leave a comment on our academy hub, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are deployed for your convenience so that you do not have to repopulate your administrative details when posting subsequent notes. These cookies persist for one year.
