To future-proof the brand and engage the highly lucrative, digitally native Gen Z and Millennial demographics, the objective was to bridge the gap between virtual esports and the physical Grand Prix. The challenge was to architect an authentic, gamified digital experience that would not only resonate deeply with the niche simulation racing community but also serve as a high-volume data capture engine, converting digital passion into tangible first-party registrations.
I conceptualised, built, and launched the ‘MexicoGP Racing League’—a nationwide esports tournament designed to discover Mexico’s fastest virtual driver, rewarding the ultimate champion with an exclusive invitation to the live Grand Prix.
My execution spanned the entire commercial and digital spectrum. On the commercial front, I successfully negotiated a strategic sponsorship with Apex Racing Simulators, seamlessly integrating their branding into the registration portal to lend authentic credibility to the tournament whilst driving partner value.
Digitally, I engineered the complete user journey. I developed the bespoke landing pages and executed highly granular performance marketing campaigns across Meta platforms. By meticulously targeting niche gaming interests—such as specific simulation titles, esports teams, and sim-racing hardware—I ensured maximum ad relevance and cost efficiency. The campaign triggered a massive influx of targeted web traffic, evidenced by significant spikes in real-time concurrent users, ultimately generating an exceptional volume of highly qualified first-party data and successfully merging the virtual and physical motorsport worlds.
