Creating a unified visual identity and fostering a deep sense of community among tens of thousands of race-goers is a formidable task. The objective was to cultivate a collective fan culture by encouraging attendees to arrive wearing green, effectively painting the grandstands in the national colour. The challenge lay in translating a conceptual idea into a highly visible, physical reality through a coordinated digital communication strategy that felt authentic, engaging, and culturally resonant, rather than like a strict corporate mandate.
To spearhead this grassroots-style movement, known as ‘La Banda Verde’, we introduced a charismatic, jalapeño-shaped mascot to serve as the face of the campaign and connect with fans on a cultural level. I architected and executed the overarching omnichannel communication strategy to broadcast this rallying cry to the motorsport fanbase.
By leveraging targeted social media advertising across Facebook and Twitter, alongside orchestrating impactful email marketing workflows, I systematically engaged the community in the weeks leading up to the race weekend. I analysed the conversion and ad performance data continuously to optimise our reach and ensure the message resonated. The campaign was a resounding success, successfully uniting the fans and transforming a digital call-to-action into a spectacular physical result: a vibrant sea of green that elevated the event’s atmosphere and global broadcast appeal.
